According to the United States Census Bureau, it has a total area of 17.7 square miles (45 km2). 17.6 square miles (45 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) of it (1.11%) is water. Pittsburg’s climate is typical of the cool steppe zones around the San Francisco Bay in California.
